Even Old People Can Learn to Use a Computer - Part 2
A growing segment of the elderly are unfortunately stuck in their homes. This is mainly due to muscle deterioration and the onset of arthritis. Computers can provide a means for them to "virtually" get out of the house and experience more of what life has to offer.
This is made possible with the innovation of the Internet.
There is really nothing that you can't do on the Internet. You can watch your favorite TV shows online, order groceries from your local supermarket and have them delivered. The possibilities are endless - there really is a lot that can be done online.
What is holding you back from all of these benefits? It is only the need to understand modern day computers. Many elderly do not want to learn anything new, they give up before they even try! Possibly is due the fear of failing and venturing into uncharted territory.
Millions of people do use computers though, if it was that difficult to learn - then not many people would be using them.
There are also lots of resources available to enable someone to learn how to use a computer. There are plenty of books on the topic as well as courses at your local community center or community college. Worst case scenario, ask one of your grandchildren to teach you the basics.
There are many levels of computer use. Sure, if you start getting into the difficult tasks that can be done on a computer you may find it difficult, but to just check email, surf the web and communicate with loved ones are all fairly simple tasks to learn.
